Audition Dates
Audition sites are listed below by state, then location. Please note, as dates and times are confirmed, they will be updated on this web page. Once you have selected a site, please download the Audition Process form and review the information.
If the specific location you're looking to audition at is not listed, consider sending in a video audition, or contact Steffen Coleman at 860.350.6494 or by email at steffen@diversityofdance.org to discuss scheduling an audition in your area.
All students attending an audition will fill out an audition form on-site. If you wish, you may complete the audition form in advance and bring it to your audition, but that is not required.
Helpful Audition Information
Promptness: Please arrive promptly at the registration time posted, which will allow for warm-up time between registration and audition start time.
Photo: A clear head shot must be emailed to steffenemia@gmail.com prior to or immediately following your audition. It need not be professionally done, just a close up of your face.
Attire: Please be dressed, with all jewelry removed, hair pulled back tightly (secured in a bun if possible), warmed-up and ready to start at the posted time wearing the following:
Ballet
Women: black leotard, pink or black tights, and ballet shoes.
Men: white fitted tank top, black tights, dance belt and ballet shoes.
Modern
Women: black leotard, pink or black footless tights.
Men: white fitted tank top, black footless tights, and dance belt.
Audition: You will be asked to do a ballet barre exercise, and a modern floor exercise. You will not be asked to perform a solo piece.

The BRIEF Audition video footage, clearly showing the applicant, should include: a combination of no more than 32 counts that includes an adagio, pirouette, and petite allegro. You should also show a 90 second solo preferably modern or contemporary.
