We are thrilled to welcome such talented and inspiring artists to join us for this year’s program, and we can’t wait for our dancers to learn from their incredible expertise and creativity.

Camryn Brothers

Camryn Brothers (she/her) is a movement artist based in New York City. Originally from Massachusetts, Camryn moved to NYC at eighteen to complete Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester Program. She has trained with and assisted many notable artists such as Kenichi Kasamatsu and Neil Schwartz, and has now become an established educator and choreographer in the city. She is currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan, Rockwell Dance Center in Connecticut, and Exhale Dance Convention. She has choreographed for Carnival the Choreographer’s Ball, Bridge for Dance’s Uptown Rising, and has worked collaboratively with various music artists such as Zolita creating concept videos for their music. Camryn consistently strives to create work that feels authentic and conversational, and create dance spaces that are enjoyable and fulfilling.

Chalvar Monteiro

Chalvar Monteiro, a native  of Montclair, NJ, began his formal dance training at Sharron Miller's Academy for the Performing Arts (SMAPA). He went on to study at The Ailey School, and later received a BFA from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College at SUNY. There he performed works by Merce Cunningham, Helen Pickett, Kevin Wynn, Dianne McIntyre, Doug Varone, and Paul Taylor.

He began his performance career with the likes of Sidra Bell Dance NY and Kevin Wynn's The Wynn Collection. After graduating from SUNY Purchase, he joined Elisa Monte Dance for their 30th anniversary season, and A.I.M by Kyle Abraham. Monteiro assisted Kyle on commissions for Emory University, Princeton University, Barnard College, Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Wendy Whelan's Restless Creature, and New York City Ballet. With A.I.M. Chalvar went on to perform at Jacob's Pillow, Fire Island Dance Festival, American Dance Festival, Spoleto Dance Festival, as well as other prestigious festivals and venues. Monteiro has been guest artist with Keigwin + Company, BODYTRAFFIC, and GALLIM.

In 2014, Monteiro was invited to join Ailey II, and later joined the AIvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2015. Chalvar was one of 75 dancers worldwide to participate in the Merce Cunningham Trust’s Centennial Event: Night of 100 Solos. In the fall of 2020, Chalvar joined the faculty of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Dance Dept. and continues to lead repertory workshops across the US.

Chalvar has presented his choreography at numerous institutions and festivals including SMAPA, Barriskill Dance, Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance, Hearts of Men, The Ailey School, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Dance Against Cancer. He created and directed the short dance film “Promise” for AAADT’s 2021 Virtual Spirit Gala. In 2022, Chalvar presented a work for Kyle Abraham’s ‘Reunions’ at Lincoln Center, and has since presented work at Troy University, Fordham University, Purchase College at SUNY, and the prestigious Fire Island Dance Festival. For Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 2025 Spring Season at BAM, he served as an Associate Choreographer alongside Samantha Figgins in the creation of ‘The Holy Blues’, a world premiere conceived and directed by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar.

In addition to performing, Chalvar’s done modeling campaigns for Uniqlo, Moncler, Lululemon, and was feautured in Vogue Beauty’s Texture Diaries.

Participants must be intermediate to advanced dancers, 16 years of age or older, and able to attend the majority of the outlined rehearsals. A participation fee of $150 for one choreographer and $225 for both choreographers must be paid via Venmo or with a credit or debit card to participate. This fee allows us to allocate funds to both pay the choreographers and rent studio space. Further information and participation guidelines can be found on the registration form.

これらの公演に参加するすべての企業、学校、芸術家は、がんのない世界のための戦いに時間と労力を費やしています。 EMDODのDancingBeyondは、ニューヨークの最高の振付師の何人かと動きを探求しながら、休日を通してダンス、情熱、精神を共有する素晴らしい方法です!ショーケースは、ダンサーが長続きする関係を築くために並んで働くことを可能にするだけでなく、参加者に心からの目的のために仕事をする機会を与えます。 Dancing Beyondの遺産では、特にアメリカ癌協会のために資金調達された30,000ドル以上を寄付し、シドラベルによる新しい作品でリモンダンスカンパニー、NYU TISCH、ラガーディア高校などの学校や企業をホストすることを光栄に思います。クリフトンブラウン、ダレルグランドモールトリー、フレドリックアールモズレーなど!
