Jessica DiMauro Marks, a New York native, is a modern dance choreographer invested in creating work that is rich in physicality and deeply communicative. Ms. DiMauro Marks holds an MFA in Choreography from Jacksonville University and a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. She has taught and choreographed works exten- sively for both professional and pre-professional dance companies in the greater NY area, as well as in New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida. Her company, DiMauro Dance, has been selected to perform at numerous curated festivals including Dance Conversa- tions at The Flea, WHITE WAVE’s SOLODUO Festival, WAVE RISING Series, COOL NY and DUMBO Dance Festivals, The T: Dance, Watch, Reflect, Greenspace Blooms, The HATCH presenting series, CT Meets NY, Queens Arts Express and New Dance Downtown. Ms. DiMauro Marks was awarded an Arts Alive Artist Grant from ArtsWestchester for her work entitled com-mu-ni-ty. DiMauro Dance frequently per- forms as Guest Artists including the 2009 Annual Benefit for The Steffi Nossen Dance Foundation where Jessica currently has the pleasure of acting as Artistic Director and Producer, as well as being commissioned for works in 2017, 2016, 2014, and 2004. In ad- dition, Ms. DiMauro Marks self-produced I’m not done yet. at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church-in-the-Bowery in 2018, METROPOLIS at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center in March 2015, Unraveled at the Merce Cunningham Studio in 2011 and Confetti: A Collection of Works by Jessica DiMauro at The Producers’ Club Theaters in 2003. Her choreography was also seen at the 2004 International NYC Fringe Festival in Granola! The Musical at The Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts. In the Fall of 2018, Jessica set her fourteenth work on the BFA Dance students at Montclair State University where she is on faculty as a professor of Modern Technique. She has been Rehearsal Director for Stacey Tookey’s work, Gift, Mark Morris’s Polka, Martha Graham’s Panorama, Bill T. Jones’ work Spent Days Out Yonder. as well as Martha Graham’s Daughters of the Night; the Chorus from Night Journey, which was performed at the Joyce Theater in February 2013. In the Fall of 2015, Jessica’s work was performed by the BA candidates at Mary- mount Manhattan College where she is currently teaching Modern technique. In the summer of 2013, Ms. DiMauro Marks was proud to be among the first few students to be certified in May O’Donnell Technique. She is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, ACE- Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.
